- Use boneless round steak
- Take butter
- You need salt
- Provide black pepper
- You need garlic powder
- Use green chile sauce
- Get (7.5 oz) jar taco sauce ( i use taco bell brand)
- Take sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
- You need Shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- Provide onion sliced
Instructions to make Sunshine's mexican steak:
- Trim excess fat from steak ,cut steak into 4 even pieces,and pound to 1/4 Inch thickness. sprinkle salt , pepper and garlic powder on the steaks
- Brown steaks in butter in larger pan , add sliced onion to saute as meat is browning .and place in a shallow 2 inch casserole dish , place 2 steaks on bottom, add half of the saute onions on top of meat , add 1/4 cup green Chile sauce and half jar of taco sauce .now put the other 2 steaks on top of sauce repeat presses…cover the dish and bake for 1 hour covered , uncover for 20 minutes at 375°F.
- When the meat is done baking , add the 2 cheeses on top , bake for 5 minutes now done… (I add a few jal, peppers to mine its optional) let ur steaks set for 10 minutes covered .ready to serve enjoy
